Colorações (Saurat)

• Orcein for elastic fibers;

• Masson's trichrome for collagen fibers;

• Fontana staining (silver staining technique) for melanin;

• Perls staining (with Prussian blue) for hemosiderin;

• toluidine blue and Giemsa staining for mast cells;

• Congo red, Paris violet, and thioflavin T for amyloidosis;

• von Kossa staining for calcium;

• PAS (Periodic Acid Schiff) staining for glycogen and basement membranes;

• PAS and Gomori-Grocott staining for fungi;

• Gram and Ziehl staining for bacteria and mycobacteria;

• Alcian blue or Astra blue for mucins.

 

Colorações (Bolognia)

• Grocott, PAS - Fungos

• Von Kossen - cálcio

• Warthin Stary - bactérias (espiroquetas, bartonela, h pylori), mas também cora os grânulos de melanina a ser transportada na epiderme para os queratinócitos e é difícil de interpretar

• Verhoeff-van Gieson - elastic fibers

• PAS, Grocott methenamine silver stain - fungus

• Ziehl-Neelsen or Fite-Faraco - mycobacteria

• Brown-Brenn, Gram - bacteria

• Giemsa or chloroacetate esterase stain - mast cells
