Othematoma

  • Soft, poorly defined hematoma that fills the contours of the antihelix
  • Sports: boxing, wrestling, rugby
  • Hemorrhage typically between pericondrium and cartilage
  • Treatment
    • Early drainage of the blood followed by a compression bandage
    • Without drainage → slow fibrous organization → cauliflower deformity of the ear
