Neutrophilic Eccrine Hidradenitis

Etiology
  • Chemotherapy (in particular cytarabine plus an anthracycline)
  • Bleomycin
  • Imatinib
  • G-CSF
 
Conceptually similar to Sweet Syndrome
 
Clinical presentation
  • Erythematous, often painful papules and plaques
  • Distribution: face, upper trunk, dorsal aspect of the hands
  • Timing: 7-14 days after initiating chemotherapy
 
Histology
  • Neutrophilic infiltrates around and within eccrine glands (where chemotherapy is excreted)
