Rubella ou German Measles

  • Apresentação clínica
    • Rash com início na face e se espalha para o resto do corpo
      • Dura geralmente 3 dias
      • Febre simultânea
    • Linfadenopatia retroauricular, posterior e occipital
    • Forscheimer spots - affect the soft palate and may appear before onset of the rash
    • Polyarthritis (hands) may occur in some patients, especially older females
    • Gravidez
      • Infeção no 1º trimestre leva a malformações graves (Congenital Rubella Syndrome), justificando a interrupção médica da gravidez
  • Prevenção: vacina
  • Complications
    • Congenital rubella syndrome
    • Post-infectious thrombocytopenia (self limited)
    • Encephalitis
