Follicular poroma

Sometimes considered a variant of seborrheic keratosis
 
Clinical presentation
  • Nodule or thread-like growth covered with horn
  • Occurs in hairy areas of the face (eyebrows, mustache, beard)
 
Epidemiology
  • in individuals over the age of 60
 
Histology
  • Acro-infundibularacanthoma taking the form of a mainly endophytic epithelial tumor
  • In large lobules or small finger-like tracts, consisting of basaloid cells at the periphery
  • Large clear cells in the center, with images of coils around horny globules (hence its other name - inverted follicular keratosis)
