Sometimes considered a variant of seborrheic keratosis
Clinical presentation
- Nodule or thread-like growth covered with horn
- Occurs in hairy areas of the face (eyebrows, mustache, beard)
Epidemiology
- in individuals over the age of 60
Histology
- Acro-infundibularacanthoma taking the form of a mainly endophytic epithelial tumor
- In large lobules or small finger-like tracts, consisting of basaloid cells at the periphery
- Large clear cells in the center, with images of coils around horny globules (hence its other name - inverted follicular keratosis)
