Etiology
- Absorption or systemic poisoning of silver particles
- Use of silver ion-based dressings in the treatment of chronic wounds or silver-containing antibiotic drugs, particularly in burns (silver sulfadiazine)
- Certain professions: printers, photographers, jewelers
Clinical presentation
- Diffuse hyperpigmentation of the skin, slate gray with metallic sheen, on exposed areas, particularly the face, nails, oral mucosa, nsaopharynx, eyes, liver, spleen, kidneys and digestive tract
Treatment
- Q-switch Nd Yag laser
